Writer's Block

Since we're supposed to actually use this blog (don't ask me why!), I was wondering how everyone deals with writer's block. Do you kill someone off? Or do you add some awkward humor that really makes no sense? I guess it depends on what creative piece you're writing, but I get stuck and I can never think of what to do next. I go on websites to find prompts, and it sometimes does/doesn't help, or I'll go to a random page in the dictionary and choose a random word and try to incorporate it into the story.

One writer's prompt website that I frequently use is:

  1. I usually skip around the whole story line a lot. Writing what else goes on further ahead of the story and it gives me an idea of what happened it between the two events. Sometimes it helps sometimes it doesn't, but that's an idea.

  2. ditto on what juan said.i use another prompt or past idea i had for the storyline and just start in on something i find more interesting like an action scene.
